Unfortunately, due to the lack of funding, it has been
decided that it would be best to postpone our symposium 'Breaking
Boundaries: Alternative Approaches to Japanese Cinema'.

For those
of you who have responded to our call for papers, thank you and we're
sorry if our decision to postpone has disappointed or will affect your
arrangements (there were some very intersting topics submitted and we
were looking forward to hearing more). For those of you currently
preparing an abstract, we encourage you to continue to submit as it will
help us further shape the programme. Our symposium e-mail
bbconf2010 at will stay open and will be checked regularly.

keynote speaker, venue and panel titles will stay the same, and we aim
to hold the symposium at some point between November 2010 - February
2011. We will be in touch with further information when details are

Again, we're sorry for any inconveniences this
decision to postpone may cause for any of you.

We are looking
forward to the symposium once we get the funding in place!
