question on Berlinale Japanese films

Hello --
I'm based here in Berlin and have seen several of the Japanese films in the
festival that have already been screened for the press.
FIT - Mico-budget drama that is aesthetically disappointing and narratively
over-ambitious. Multi-threaded storyline about individuals with some sort of
emotional problem/disorder. Some bits work better than others.
HEAVEN'S STORY -- I was hoping that this nearly 5 hour work would be this
year's LOVE EXPOSURE, but it was a far cry from that. Performances are
outstanding, but I found myself thinking too often of Aoyama's EUREKA, which
is a far superior film.
KAZOKU X - The best Japanese film I've seen thus far at the festival.
Extremely dysfunctional family drama. Simple, powerful, and oh so bleak.
SEKAI GOOD MORNING -- I think I've overdosed on downbeat awkward teen
dramas. Like FIT, has interesting moments, but doesn't really hold
together.
Very excited about the Shibuya Minoru retrospective. Have only seen one of
his films.
If anybody has questions about the festival or Berlin, please feel free to
ask.
