Hi, Bianca,
I've never seen Karayuki-san, but I saw a Japan Foundation print of Nippon sengoshi at Sheffield in 2009. I would ask the Japan Foundation in Canada what they can do for you.

Bianca,
A DVD is available here:
今村昌平傑作選 第三巻
http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=TCD-1074
http://www.amazon.co.jp/今村昌平傑作選-第三巻-DVD-今村昌平/dp/B0002CHQ1M/
It's expensive, though.
Alternately, it's a ways off, but Éditions Choses Vues has made a small announcement (scroll down) that they will have a DVD of these films in Spring 2012:
Mikikanhei o otte I & II
Muhomatsu kokyo e kaeru
Karayuki-san
With French subtitles. Many of their DVDs are €27.00 or less.

Hello all,
I am currently working on a project on Imamura Shohei and I would really appreciate it if anyone could let me know how to find his two documentaries: Nipon Sengoshi: Madamu Onboro no seikatsu and Karayuki-san. At present I cannot travel to Japan, which greatly limits the chances but I was still hoping I could buy, rent or borrow them from Canada or U.S. Thank you very much.
