Betreff: More European festivals
In the vein of sharing information on festivals, here in London there started tonight a short Buddhist Film Festival. After 'Shugendo Now' tonight, there's a screening of Kanzeon, of which we have spoken positively, previously.

Starting tomorrow is the TerraCotta Far East Film Festival which has several Japanese films

I believe 'The Woodsman and the Rain' will also show at Udine.

Terra Cotta will also screen the Taiwanese epic Seediq Bale, which depicts the Wushe incident of the Japanese colonial era and managed to get a feature in the 'Economist' after its Venice screening

The piece still has the Taiwanese - Austronesian descent the wrong way round. I think some Japanese is spoken. Tony Rayns, when I asked him thought it was more interesting as an event than as a film. At 150 minutes, it's clearly the short version.
