Thanks everyone for the clarifications. but according to cathy who
initially responded to my post, said she had trouble accessing the .jp site
from germany. i've informed the Film Preservation Society so they can look
into it. Everyone who has responded to my post except Cathy looks like they
are accessing the pages from the US. so its hard for us to tell what really
is the problem here. Its a bummer if there is a country block since its a
great project and the videos i mentioned in the first post are great!

homemovieday.com does have links to homemovieday.jp and the temporary
english site for FPS is on homemovieday.jp as well as the film salvation
project page so I got the impression that they maybe affiliated in some
way. I apologize for my misinterpretation if they are not affiliated. But
Home Movie Day is a big international event and homemovieday.com does list
locations in japan on their site so I think its safe to say that they are
connected despite different hosting services.

I just hope that more people can become aware of this project to spread the
word and possibly help save more home movies and other (possibly rare)
moving image materials. Again just a reminder, but the project is not 3.11
exclusive and they plan to work with other water damaged moving image
materials.

Joanne mentioned Ishihara Kae. I met her over the winter, which is why I
decided to make a post about the film salvation project here after
realizing that I haven't seen it mentioned on this listserve.

if anyone abroad continues to have issues accessing the film salvation page
or any other pages of the film preservation society. please let me know off
list and i will let them know.
