NECS conference

Lisbon in June anyone ?

This year's NECS conference is from June 21st to 23rd and the submission deadline is tomorrow  (presumably midnight European time).

I was thinking of proposing a look at the (largely negative) reception to Alan Parker's 'Come See the Paradise' (released in Japan as 愛と哀しみの旅路), in relation to polyglot/monoglot films, which would connect to 'screens and memory'/'cultural identity'/ and possibly 'time and memory'.  'Come See the Paradise' is of course, a Hollywood film but Asian films were definitely underrepresented last year, despite a focus on language.
