Dear KineJapanners,
The Foreign Correspondents' Club in Yurakucho has two upcoming
screenings that look really interesting:
On April 5, they're showing a controversial documentary about the US
military's global network of more than 700 bases, highlighting the
impact their 250,000 soldiers have on local populations. There is
footage from Okinawa and a discussion of why Japan continues to host
such a huge US presence.
On April 18, the stars of Shochiku’s big spring film "Chronicle of My
Mother" (Waga Haha no Ki), Kilin Kiki and Yakusho Koji, will appear
with director Harada Masato for a Q&A after the screening.
Since FCCJ is a private club, if you'd like to see either film, you
must reserve through Karen Severns: kjs30 at gol.com
