Forgive my ignorance here- can you explain your reference to the Imamura Shohei days?

Subject: [KineJapan] Japan Academy of Moving Images Oath
Turns out Sato Tadao's Japan Academy of Moving Images requires all new hires to sign an oath renouncing politics and keeping pedagogy apolitical. No one knew until someone refused to sign, and this gave up his offer. Could this be a legacy of the Imamura Shohei days?
