The CJS Pubs Program has just issued a new book on Japanese film!  See
below. It's a good translation, and the introduction is an important
contribution. Yamamoto led a more interesting life than you might suppose
from his portrayal in the English language literature....or much of the
Japanese for that matter.

You know, the CJS list for Japanese film is pretty darn good, if I do say
so myself. If you have a manuscript coming up, drop me a line. Currently, I
am in charge of the press and I would love to keep books on Japanese film
in the pipeline!
