The Mainichi Film Awards (Concours) were announced with Shin Godzilla being selected for the grand prize (Nihon Eiga Taisho). Kono yo no katasumi ni was chosen second best film (Nihon Eiga Yushusho) and also got the Ofuji Noburo Award. Your Name was best animated film. Other awards include:

Best actor: Motoki Masahiro
Best actress: Tsutsui Mariko
Best director: Nishikawa Miwa
Best supporting actor: Kagawa Teruyuki
Best supporting actress: Ichikawa Mikako
Best screenplay: Mukai Yosuke

The Mainichi is one of the longest running film awards, but it is selected by a small number of critics and thus tends to have its own bent.
