Yes, I agree with Jonathan, it certainly does damage the community aspect, which was always a strong part of Kinejapan in its first 10 years or so.

Dear Kine Japanners.

I raised this issue last year at the time of the Kinema Club kerfuffle. It has a major impact on the sociality of the medium, something to which media scholars ought to be sensitive. There was no response from the list "owners" at that time. I'm hoping users might finally see some action.
