Greetings~

And sorry for the dour question.

I am trying to confirm whether the film critic/historian Tanisawa Yoshio (谷川義雄), who wrote on a lot of doc and leftist films, is still alive.

I can't find records beyond WebCat, which states he was born in 1919. https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__webcatplus.nii.ac.jp_webcatplus_details_creator_82414.html&d=DwIFaQ&c=cjytLXgP8ixuoHflwc-poQ&r=XHvwq7b9M-5NXR_g-cAFk7OFQAGzntM3iXVdhnWevfo&m=Fgoa_PX81zyCholBczK-GCbhe4Iz65t15ytURmJk4Yg&s=QMoCNIUCqtdhqE9EnWm4SGAYIVxJoP_5ETQ1Z8fZ3ls&e= <https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__webcatplus.nii.ac.jp_webcatplus_details_creator_82414.html&d=DwIFaQ&c=cjytLXgP8ixuoHflwc-poQ&r=XHvwq7b9M-5NXR_g-cAFk7OFQAGzntM3iXVdhnWevfo&m=Fgoa_PX81zyCholBczK-GCbhe4Iz65t15ytURmJk4Yg&s=QMoCNIUCqtdhqE9EnWm4SGAYIVxJoP_5ETQ1Z8fZ3ls&e=>
Of course, it is possible he is still alive, and I would have expected to see his name in the papers if there had been a tribute or obituary, but nothing turns up.

If anyone has any offhand or anecdotal knowledge to pass along, I would totally appreciate hearing it!

Thanks.
Anne McKnight
