Yes, that piece of nominative determinism had struck me too.

Dear KineJapan members,
This is a shameless self-promotion on the National Cat Day. My new book, Cinema Is a Cat: A Cat Lover's Introduction to Film Studies, is now available from the University of Hawai'i Press. Thank you, Aaron and Hiroshi, for your generous blurbs!
This book is not specifically about Japanese cinema, but there are several chapters in which I discuss Japanese films, including Neko to Shozo to futari no onna; Neko zamurai; and Janguru taitei Leo. I published a Japanese book (shinsho) with a very similar title in 2011, but this book is not a translated version of it. New chapters and new intro were added, and other chapters were significantly re-written for different target audiences. This book has more illustrations, too! I hope you enjoy, especially those of you cat lovers!
Thank you,
Daisuke
