Snapshots is thrilled to open the 2020 season with a brilliant review from the 2019 Orphans Symposium by Grazia Ingravalle. Ingravalle reflects on the 2019 conference theme 'Radicals' by reliving for us some of its highlights, from a 1899 panorama along the river Gange to punk remakes of Tarkovski's Stalker. In a moving piece, Ingravalle envisions the work of film preservation and re-circulation - as done by Orphanistas or Domitorians - as creating a community of "caring scholars, artists, and archivists" she calls an "Orphans International." Snapshots a le plaisir de commencer l'année 2020 avec le très beau compte rendu du dernier Orphans Symposium écrit par Grazia Ingravalle.
