According to this article, Kawasaki City announced that of the many items damaged in the flooding of the Kawasaki City Museum's vaults, there are some that will be impossible to restore. The article mentions that films are among those. It seems that it is taking a lot of time to attend to the damaged collection. Only a third of the items in the affected vaults have even been removed from the vaults.
