Thinking about Donald Richie while reading up on Film Anpan, I did some
Googling and stumbled on this site:

https://www.moma.org/calendar/exhibitions/2695

Moma has a small, online record of Donald Richie's 90-film retrospective.
The press release has the film list. It's an interesting selection. I
didn't realize it was linked to the opening of the National Museum of
Modern Art's Film Museum. Richie also programmed a retrospective of silent
American film to send to Japan.

I once visited their archive to see what Richie left behind. Charles Silver
was so welcoming, and searched their cabinets high and low for
correspondence, memos and the like. Unfortunately, there wasn't much. But
Silver had many nice things to say about Donald, having started his career
under Richie's tenure as the film curator.
