[KineJapan] 2nd Symposium and Film Screenings on Haneda Sumiko

Dear KineJapaners,
We are pleased to invite you to the second online symposium on Japanese documentary filmmaker Haneda Sumiko, which will be held next week on Thursday 30 September 2021, 9:00am – 6:00pm (UK Time).
You can register via Zoom HERE and find the programme of the symposium below and on the Japan Research Centre (SOAS) website HERE.
There will also be virtual screenings of two films directed by Haneda, which have been especially subtitled in English for this project:
* Dedicated Treasures of Horyuji-Temple (Hōryūji ken'nō hōmotsu, 1971, 20min) - This film will be shown live and exclusively during the symposium to those attending on Thursday 30 September, between 3.00pm – 4.00pm (BST)
* The Japanese Settlers to the Manchuria and Inner Mongolia of Mainland China (Aa Manmō Kaitaku-dan, 2008, 120min) This film will be available on Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd Octoberat Birkbeck Institute for the Moving Image (BIMI) screeningplatform. Those registering for the symposium will receive the link and password on Friday 1st October. Please check your spam folder.
