Re: films with English subtitles, the situation here hasn't changed much in the past five years.

Unfortunately, I see no momentum. The SARS travel restrictions (now lifted) probably didn't help.

Perfect Days opened in Japan on 12/22, but there are currently no subtitled screenings in Tokyo.

That said, in addition to the offering at 109 Cinemas Premium Shinjuku, ゴジラ-1.0 is now screening with EN subs at Toho Cinemas in Shinjuku and Roppongi Hills.
