[KineJapan] Film IS a Document

The National Film Archive of Japan has opened a new web portal introducing some of the documentary footage in their collection that covers various aspects of life, society, industry, and war in prewar Japan. Most are news, science, and industrial shorts, some going back to the Russo-Japanese War, but one, for instance, is by Ogino Shigeji, the amateur experimental filmmaker, and ends with color footage. The site is called "Film IS a Document" but is not in English and does not have English subs for the films.
