[KineJapan] RIP Roger Macy

Dear all,

A couple of you have been in touch privately to ask about Roger's funeral
arrangements. However, his son Colin yesterday sent me full details, which
he would like to be shared with this list. I've pasted his message below my
signature. He includes a link to an online broadcast of the funeral, which
some of those of you who are not able to attend in person by virtue of
geographical distance or prior commitments might wish to follow.

There's a book of condolences where people can odd their online messages. I
shall also shortly forward the various tributes that many of you shared
last week to Colin and his sister Helen.

Dear friends and members of the Japanese Film Group,

It is with great sadness that I write to let you know that my father, *Roger
Macy*, passed away recently. Many of you will remember Roger as a
passionate, knowledgeable, and generous member of this group, someone who
loved nothing more than sharing his deep appreciation for Japanese cinema
and engaging in lively and sometimes eccentric discussions. His enthusiasm
touched many people, and our family takes great comfort in knowing how much
joy this community brought him.

Roger’s *funeral will be held on Saturday, 8th November at 11:30 am in the
South Chapel of the City of London Crematorium (Manor Park)* followed
by a *wake
at the Leytonstone Tavern*. We would be honoured if you could join us to
celebrate his life and the friendships he cherished through this group.

We have also set up an online *Book of Condolences*, where you are welcome
to share memories, stories, photos, or videos of Roger:
