Luna Moths

I have never heard of the luna moth being listed as endangered.
However, a longtime collecting friend tells me that it and most other
Saturniids have been extirpated from eastern Pennsylvania since his
youth (which wasn't that long ago).  He blames gypsy moth control
efforts and outdoor lighting.  This is depressing.
