Tiger Swallowtails (actually Canadian Tiger Swallowtails, according
to the lastest taxonomy: _Pterourus canadensis_) mud puddle avidly in Inter-
ior Alaska. Such behavior was particularly noticeable this summer near
Fairbanks, where there was a local population peak for the species, and
where we had drought conditions. The few puddles available were thus crowded
with butterflies of various kinds.
