Any different with the defination of penis and Aedeagus in Lepidoptera

I guess you could say that if a lep has a penis - it is the aedoeagus and
enclosed vesica.

I assume they have very different origins - but they serve basically the
same function.  The male method of transporting the sperm over to the
female, and of preventing or making it very difficult to deliver it to the
wrong address.

So I suppose the answer to your question is yes.
