The temperature today was 75 degrees F, as it often is in Dallas, Texas
in February. After several warm days in a row there were several
different species on the wing today. As usual, there were dozens of
Orange Sulphurs (Colias eurytheme) which you can find in North Texas
throughout the winter months as long as there are several warm days in a
row. A half dozen Question Marks (Polygonia interrogationis) were also
basking in the sun, as well as one Mourning Cloak (Nyphalis antiopa).
But the pleasant surprise was a Common Buckeye (Junonia coenia).
Spring is just around the corner and it can't get here soon enough.
