Hi
There seems to have been a bit of migrant activity here in Suffolk recently.
Reasonable numbers of Silver Y and Nomophila noctuella (Rush Veneer) have been
turning up at traps around the county over the last week or so.
Last week also brought in two reports of Vestal (Rhodometra sacraria) on
separate nights at different sites in Ipswich.
On Saturday (25/7/98) a Swallowtail was also reported from an Ipswich garden (I
am assuming this is a migrant).
Last week there was also an unconfirmed report of Mediterranean Brocade
(Spodoptera littoralis) in the Ipswich area; we have still to check the
specimen. I don't know whether this would be taken as a migrant or an import.
