For sale: I have a copy of "The Nature Library - Butterflies" by Clarence M.
Weed, 1926, Doubleday, Page & Co., 286 pp., 48 color paintings. Approx. 8" x
5". This is a rare collectors' item.

The hard cover face has lost it's most of the gold-plate title printing from
use, and is somewhat aged (back is more worn than front), but completely
intact and solid. There is some sort of cover fading or wear along the top 1"
on front and back (looks like use-wear rather than moisture damage). Though
there is only very minimal fray damage, not immediately noticeable. The book-
end has printed type in relatively good readable condition (it can be read on
the bookshelf).

All internal pages intact, untorn, unmarked, not damaged by water or uneven
fading. There is a very slight browning of the paper, as is typical of books
of this age. The color plates are very attractive, show painted butterflies
against a simple background painting of an outdoor setting, and are generally
in flying positions, though they look like spread specimens. A few are in
sitting positions. An associated nectar or host plant is also painted, and in
a few cases, a larva or chrysalis is shown.

The inside front cover does have some ink and pencil scribbling (names and
phone numbers) and the back inside page (blank) has some computation
scribbles.
