California Desert Butterflies

I hate to do this to you folks in the Mid-west who just got buried
in a few feet of snow, but the LA NABA chapter had it's annual outing
to Anza-Borrego State Park (San Diego County, California) this
weekend and had 28 butterfly species. The numbers weren't high
except for Painted Lady which was everywhere.
Butterflies seen were:
Black Swallowtail (Papilio polyxenes), Becker's White (Pontia
beckerii), Desert Orangetip (Anthocharis cethura), Sara Orangetip (A.
sara), Cloudless Sulphur (Phoebis sennae), Dainty Yellow (Nathalis
iole), Queen Alexandra's Sulphur (Colias alexandra), Southern
Dogface(Colias cesonia), Sleepy Orange (Eurema nicippe), Great Purple
Hairstreak(Atlides halesus), Acmon Blue(Plebejus acmon), Ceraunus
Blue(Hemiargus ceraunus), Marine Blue(Leptotes marina), Silvery
Blue(Glaucopsyche lygdamus), Sonoran Blue(Philotes sonorensis),
Western Pymgy Blue(Brephidium exile), Mormon Metalmark(Apodemia mormo
deserti), Wright's Metalmark (Calephelis wrighti), Variable (Henne)
Checkerspot(Euphydryas chalcedona henne), California Patch (Chlosyne
californica), Mourning Cloak (Nymphalis antiopa), Painted
Lady(Vannessa cardui), West Coast Lady (V. annabella), Monarch(Danaus
plexippus), Queen(D. gilippus), Orange Skipperling(copaeodes
aurantiacus), Common Checkered Skipper(Pyrgus communis), Funereal
Duskywing (Erynnis funeralis).
