Good evening,
I have been researching non-native invasive plants for management
consideration in Central Massachusetts. I am looking for examples of
interactions between invasive and native species to help justify my
agencies expenditure of funds to control exotics plants.
Some time ago I recall reading about concerns that the non-native
invasive Garlic Mustard was interfering with larval development of West
Virginia Whites (Pieris virginiensis) when the larva fed on this plant.
Can anyone point me to a source for this information or has anyone first
hand anecdotal evidence that substantiates this or other cases which may
be applicable to New England.
Thanks very much in advance,
Warm weather in the Northeast may bring out some anglewings tomorrow!!!
