New (?) North American record

This last July I obtained a white female _Colias_ (Sulphur) on
Montana Mountain, just south of Carcross, YT, Canada. At the time I thought
it was probably _Colias hecla_--but a couple of days ago I spread the
specimen, along with some normal female _hecla_ from the same site, and
it does indeed look like _hecla_.
According to a _Colias_ specialist I know, there is only one known
record for the 'alba' female _hecla_, and that's from Greenland. Should this
one turn out to be _hecla_ (we'll know more when it comes off the spread-
ing board) it would be the first from North America.
Previous comments about white female _hecla_ in the Yukon and Alaska
from Hovanitz and others are now known to refer to _Colias canadensis_, a
different species entirely, which may have affinities with _Colias boothii_
(now lumped with _C. tyche_ by many taxonomists).
