no N. antiopa population crash in New England

Despite reports of N. antiopa population crashes in Europe and parts of North
America, I have received a number of reports from coastal New England
reporting exactly the opposite. In September, reporters along the coast in
Rhode Island and Massachusetts reported unusually large numbers of antiopa
migrating southward. This is unusual, in that the species is not generally
known to be a migrant. Some reports indicated more seen in one day than in a
year.
