Hello all,
I would like to say thank you very much to everyone who has written to me
to express their sadness and sympathy at the passing of Dr. David Gaskin.
The letters were very much appreciated and I have shared them with his
widow.
I am now in the process of sorting through Dr. Gaskin's insect collection
and preparing it for shipping to various museums. I have come across a
couple of boxes of leps which Dr. Gaskin must have borrowed, and I would
like very much to return them to their proper homes.
I have two boxes labelled "Aust. Nat. Ins. Coll.", which I assume is the
Australian National Insect Collection. I also have a box labelled "Florida
Dept. of Agriculture, Plant Industries Division, Entomology Section". I
found websites for both institutions on the Web but none of the e-mail
addresses listed on thos sites appear to be valid. I have also had no luck
finding any loan forms in Dr. Gaskin's files to help me out!
If anyone can give me a contact name for either of the above insect
collections, I'd really like to hear from you!
And once again, if anyone else had material on loan to Dr. Gaskin, or if
you would like reprints of his lepidoptera papers, or have any other
inquiries about his research, please contact me either by e-mail, regular
mail or by phone, and I will try to answer your questions. I would like to
return any loaned material that David had to its origin as soon as
possible.
Thank you for your time and your help!
Sincerely,
Becky Vincent, M.Sc. Student
