I know this is late to the discussion but let's not forget the infamous
Japanese Beetle or the English Sparrow. Don't know if it is true or not
but I have heard that here in the northeast originally the small bird
poplulation was almost entirely colorful and pleasant to the ear until
the introduction of the sparrow and starling.
