Dean Nicholson of Cranbrook just reported hundreds of Neophasia menapia
flying in the Pinus ponderosa stands. Seems like a lot of butterflies in SE
BC are enjoying a cool, wet year after a previous hot, dry one. Downside is
that this has been a very poor migrant year with Vanessa cardui not seen yet
and Colias eurytheme quite uncommon - both were very abundant last year.
