The first Portal 4th of July Butterfly Count - sponsored by SEABA and
with the help of some of SE Arizona's top butterfly experts will be held
August 28.
Meet at the Cave Creek USFS headquarters parking lot around 6:00 to 6:30
AM.  If the gate is looked it is OK to park on the road outside the
parking lot.
The USFS would like to cooperate in this count and in the future may
wave area use (parking) fees to participants.
Please be reminded that some voucher specimens of difficult to observe,
confusing, or out of range species will be netted and perhaps taken as
specimens.
The USFS reminds us that no taking of any kind is permitted in the area
of the South Fork of Cave Creek up to the wilderness area -as this is a
special zoological zone.
Starting next year the count will be held on the last Saturday of July.
