Postman Butterfly

In his book on the butterflies of Trinidad and Tobago, Barcant called
*Heliconius erato* - THE POSTMAN. This was probably derived from a 19'th
century postal uniform of dark suit, red epaulets and thin yellow stripe to
the pants.
