Algonquin Park (Ontario) Monarchs

Park Naturalist Colin Jones reports that the first monarch was seen near
Grand Lake, Algonquin Park on May 27th. during the East Side Butterfly
Count on June 5th, 8 monarchs were counted.

Algonquin is a huge wilderness park, and the first sighting was made
about 175 direct miles north-east of downtown Toronto. The park is about
77 miles long and 45 miles wide.
