Butterflies and habitat corridors

Speaking of corridors - Northeast Utilities (a power company here in 
Connecticut, USA), has approached me to take a walk with them(June 29) for the 
purpose of determining if it would be feasible to make their power cuts more 
butterfly/bird friendly.  

Naturally, I have some ideas, but I'm sure the collected wisdom out there might 
have suggestions that I may not think of!  I'd gratefully welcome them.
