breeding commas and small tortoiseshells

Hi Folks

I've got some Small tortoiseshells (Aglais urticae)and Commas (Polygonia
c-album) that I'm trying to breed. They're in walk-in netting cages in a
 glasshouse with sunlight spectrum flourescent tubes, they're feeding
and they have supplies of stinging nettles to oviposit on. Nonetheless,
they don't seem very interested.

Does anyone have experience of breeding these species, and if so can you
cast any light on possible reasons why they might not ovipositing?
