I saw my first [of the season] Regal Fritillary (Speyeria idalia) on Sunday,
June 20, on our farm in Osage County, Kansas. It made its escape before I
could determine gender.
New Monarchs were about also, as was a male Great Spangled Fritillary.
Common Milkweed, Daisy Fleabane, Indian Blanket, Lemon Mint and Beebalm are
in full bloom right now, and the ticks were thick near the wooded areas!
