With all the Genus conversation, checked the 12/98 Emmel "Systematics of
Western North American Butterflies."   Interestingly it shows Euphydryas
for chalcedona and editha plus two split species colon and anicia!  

Understand this work was widely peer reviewed and also will be accepted
by NABA.....
