Diseases of Adult Butterflies

I just read a long post of larval diseases.  What about the diseases of 
adults?  I have read elsewhere that the release of imported butterflies 
(at weddings for instance) should be discouraged because they may spread 
disease to local populations.  What diseases are these?  How bad can they 
be if the adult is flying around? Would they transmit the disease to 
other adults, larvae or eggs?  What would be the consequences of such a 
release?
