Went mothing Saturday night the 9th of October in the Lake Isabella area of Kern County, California-we are a long way from the last moth of the season. Best bug was female Arachnis picta verna-probably a separate species but most often listed as a subspecies. Many Abagrotis noctuids that were formerly lumped under exertistigma-will have to separate, and a reddish underside geometrid that Ron Leuschner told me was ululalia of something. Took about 25 specimens home of about 12 species.

Wow !!

Getting pretty bizarre in here!! Bug porn!. Pureed toads! Are the 60's
back ???

The last (?) lone moth of the season sits chilled on my window - one of the
little late geos or "flimsies" as I call them. Something bruceata.

Happy hibernating all.
