Convention in scientific names?

Hello everyone,

Pursuing further my scaly hobby, does anyone know whether
there's available any book that teaches or explains the
scientific naming of the lepidotera? More specifically,
information on the system or convention, if any, behind
their scientific names. I'm thinking along the line of a
book like William T. Stearn's _Botanical Latin_ wherein the
botanical description convention is explained ad nauseam,
thus making it very enlightening.
