[SoWestLep] Garden Canyon Butterflies

Hank writes from Garden Canyon (Arizona) that
"There were also quite a few sphingid hawkmoths nectaring at the
Carpochaete. These were medium sized, with a furry yellow-olive thorax
and a thick white band across the black abdomen. "
--- This is an excellent find, most likely being the Clavipes sphinx
(Aellopos clavipes), which is not seen for years, and then explodes. Perhaps
the adults from last fall managed to get a brood through.
