Carlos,
I looked this up in my 1975 edition of "The Dictionary of Butterflies &
Moths". They list the family of Eudaemonia moths as, "5 tropical African
species in this genus. The extraordinary long tails of these moths are up
to five times as long as the remainder of the hindwing." The species
pictured in my book is, E. brachyura.
Obviously, you have seen the plate that Joe posted on his webpage. So I
would hazard to say based on this and on the inf. I found that the name is
current. More I can not say. Perhaps a person more familiar with tropical
African fauna with respond.
All the best... Laurel

>My name is Carlos West, and I am a researcher at "Awake!" magazine in New

>"Eudaemonia jehova," which was described in an 1877 catalog by Herman
>Strecker titled "Lepidoptera, Rhopaloceres and Heteroceres, Indigenous and
>Exotic." I corresponded with Professor Joe Kunkel at the University of
>Massachusetts at Amherst and he suggested that I send a message to the Lep

>If anyone can help me, I'm interested in finding out if this particular
