Anne Kilmer's Poetry

The butterfly reference Anne Kilmer's mom referred to might have been Polygonia comma or interrogationis. I experienced the incredible color of the Fall iridescent purple edge on wings while raking grass clippings from around trees. The poor butterfly had difficulty moving due to the chilly air and overcast sky. It did fit in with Anne's poem however---and when the butterfly wings were closed I saw "a single brown/grey leaf-like piece of lawn debris.

Cheers, Diane
