   Thank you. I have wondered for 30 years what the true name of these things
was. I saw the picture. The beast that we always called an Asp, is definitely
the Megalopygidae Opercularis (the Puss Caterpillar).
   I noticed that it was listed as "our most dangerous stinging caterpillar". I
can tell you from first hand experience that they live up to their reputation.
