Seems to me that moth collecting might appeal to the more sedentary of
our number? You just put your traps out and presto, lots of moths. 
Whereas with butterflies you keep having to leap tall buildings in a
single bound and all. 
It is probably easier, however, to get people to admire a butterfly
collection than a moth collection, unless you specialize in the big
pretty ones. 
Our friends in Ireland who wish to collect have some 32 butterfly
species, 8 or so endangered. So there you are. It's moths or nothin'.
