A wooley catepillar that Joshie and I found tonite

Josh and I found a beautiful wooley caterpillar in the yard tonight.  We do
not know what species it is.  The color is long black hairs with orange
stripes and is about 3 inches in length.  Josh is a new "bug man," and is
known as the "BUG BOY" in school.  Please advise.
