Dear friends - I wanted to thank all of you who responded when I sent out a
distress call concerning a Detached Swallowtail chrysallis, and to let you
all know that our experiment had a satisfactory conclusion. My children and
I reattached the pupae with elmers white glue, 6 inches above the bottom of
the cage, and 10 days later the black swallowtail emerged, crawled all over
the kids (who were delighted!) and was released. That one was a male, the
second two were females. We are now anxiously awaiting the emergence of our
three Monarchs. We have learned so much about butterflies through this
experiment, and your timely advice really helped make it a success. So,
thank you all again for helping three new lepidopterists to emerge!
                                            Sincerely - Tracey Brunetti
